what i've been working on.

i've been feeling really productive lately, and i think it's because i've been working on so many different projects all at once. and i'm thinking that maybe this is the way i need to work from now on; rather than just focusing on just bullet necklaces for example, i'll work on bullet necklaces, feather earrings, and sewing tote bags all at once! in addition to making things for my shop, i've also been in a cleaning out and semi-organizing mood. i've gone through my drawers and closet and made a blog with some clothes and accessories that are ready to move into a new home. so remember how i told you i was going to start making bags again? here are a few (and some jewelry, too) that i've been working on...

i'm seriously in love with the floral and leather bag. so much so that i might want to get chris to buy it from me for me. i found this cut of vintage floral canvas, and i thought it would make the best tote bag! i'm also thinking i'd really like a duffel bag in that fabric. so yeah, my floor has been covered in fabric, straight pins, pieces of thread and brass studs.

and speaking of making things, look at these BEAUTIFUL crochet covered beach stones that brittan is making! she is so talented, and i swear she can make anything. i can't wait to get my paws on some of those babies!

what i've been working on.

the last few weeks i feel like i've been spending so much time editing pictures, packaging orders, updating my website, etc. that i haven't been able to make items like i should. this week i've made it a point to get some new bullet and stone, and orb and stone necklaces made! i've got a few more in the works right now and some fun new pieces with feathers to show you soon. until then, here are a few things i've been working on...

the last bullet necklace has an amethyst AND a quartz stone, and i'm thinking i kind of like a necklace with two different stones! the only bad thing about making lots of new things is that i start wanting more stones, and i'm not kidding, i can barely hold back from just going crazy and buying every stone i see! speaking of jewelry, i'm going to choose a winner tomorrow for the turquoise necklace giveaway, so be sure to enter if you haven't yet!

aside from jewelry making, i also plan to design and print new business cards this weekend which i'm pretty excited about! i pretty much just like having a reason to play with photoshop. i've also been wanting to make a certain hair accessory, but since it requires a lot of sewing, i may get lazy. i hope to have pictures to show you, though!

what have you been working on lately? do have a link to pictures? i love seeing your projects!

it's time for a giveaway

I'm a little behind on doing another giveaway, but hopefully you'll think the item up for grabs is worth the wait! Since these seem to be the most popular item in the dinosaur toes inventory, I figured I'd give you the chance to win a bullet necklace. This particular necklace is made from a silver tone .38 caliber bullet casing with a raw chunk of aquamarine; the casing and stone are suspended from a vintage brass chain that I've oxidized to black.

You have multiple chances to enter, and here are the rules:

-Leave me a comment telling me your favorite gem stone (1 entry, and mandatory)

-Leave me a comment if you are a follower (1 entry)

-Leave me a comment and link if you blog or tweet about this giveaway (1 entry)

-Leave me a comment if you purchase something from our shop during the giveaway (10 entries)

I hope you like the giveaway item, and I wish you luck! This giveaway will close on Sunday July 31, and I'll announce the winner right here the following day.

what i've been working on

Last Saturday, I managed not to be so lazy and made myself get in the garage so I could drill some shell casings with the drill press. The only bad thing about making these bullet necklaces is that I want to keep so many of them for myself!

From the top: .38 shell casing with aquamarine, .22 shell casing with aquamarine, .38 shell casing with rutilated quartz (my favorite stone).

Tomorrow afternoon I'm meeting these two lovely ladies to have some girl talk and watch them get their newest tattoos. I've been trying to convince Chris that I can barely function without another tattoo, but he's not having it. Hmph (arms crossed with a frown on my face). Sharon (with the dark hair) is the tattletale and Haley (the blonde) is the one who would probably get tattled on. I'll just sit back and watch. What are your plans for the weekend?

I need to tell you about two blogs... If you like positive stories and random acts of kindness, you should definitely check out A Million To One. Also, if you're artsy and creative, you should sign up for The Notebook Journey! You'll get to decorate one page, then send it along to the next person (after seeing all the other beautiful pages, of course).
