the traveler

I don't know what it is about turtles, their slow speed, their cute feet or the fact that they carry their shelter with them, but I just love them. I don't love that their population is rapidly decreasing, due in part to being hit by cars. Whether it's a country road or a four lane highway, I'll run into the road like a maniac to save these little creatures from imminent danger. This little cutie decided to take a walk on the road this morning, and I'm glad I was there to stop her! She now has a new home on our 140 acre farm.

I can't even begin to describe the beauty of Jacqleen Bleu's photography. I love the vintage, whimsical feel, I love the colors, I love that she offers you so many choices in papers, I just love it all! She's friendly, she's super talented, and she's definitely worth checking out! While you're browsing, don't forget to stop by her romantic little jewelry shop, seaunicorn. You won't be disappointed, I promise!

get in my closet!

I have a love/hate relationship with Anthropologie. I love love love their clothes, shoes, housewares and accessories, but I hate that it can't all be mine. Too bad they don't have Forever 21 prices. These are some of my current faves, ESPECIALLY the sandals! I've always had a LOVE/LOVE relationship with shoes!

Although I can't rememer just how I found this great shop (due in large part to the fact I do too much Etsy browsing for one person, in one lifetime), I'm glad I did! A fool for metal, it was lust at first sight. I love the way the metal seems to sparkle against the dark backgrounds, and one such necklace was an instant favorite, the coral and feather lariat (pictured below). My wishlist just got longer.

one of my inspirations

Could a film get any more beautiful than Marie Antoinette? I don't know, I'm having a difficult time thinking of any. While I'm inspired by many things, I love to watch this movie, not only for the storyline, but for the rich, fluffy, oh-so-feminine look of it!

Some of my current favorites that were born from no other inspiration than Marie Antoinette! cette fille collar, stormy corsage bracelet and romantic textile no. 6 bracelet.

A girl after my own heart, this turtle lover's creative equivalent is a mockingbird, of which I've raised three, and she finds inspiration in little treasures that can be recreated into her own little beauties! Not only are her creations beautiful (I own a pair of earrings and a bracelet from her), but they're unique and perfect for those who like color. Two thumbs up for the sweetest person on Etsy! These are some of my favorite current and sold items from cmedesign.etsy.com.

shell to home

When my husband and I bought our first home, our current home, I don't think we fully understood what we were getting ourselves into. Little more than damaged walls, windows and doors, our shell of a home turned into, after a year of work and a little more to go, our pride and joy! After doing a little house cleaning yesterday, I thought I'd take a few pictures of my little palace! Filled with antiques, etsy items and my original prints, it's my favorite place to be!

framed

Although I take and print enough pictures for three (possibly seven) lifetimes, I just can't resist buying prints from other talented artists! While I have enough wall space to keep me busy for the next few years, I don't have nearly as many frames. Call me picky, but not just any frame will do. I love the detailing of the vintage frames, especially gesso! So until I can find the perfect frames for my new prints, I'll just have to enjoy looking at them on their temporary home, my desk

"Grace" 8x10 print by the talented kellya on Etsy.

"Victorian Dreams" a beautiful TTV 7x7 print full of vintage charm from 7e9ah, also on Etsy.

my day in polaroids, monday.

Just a regular 'ol Monday, nothing too terribly special. It's a chilly, rainy day that forces me to stay inside.

Used some toothpaste from a new tube, which is ridiculously exciting to me!

I love the vintage feel of the new runner my hubby and I got yesterday for the entrance foyer.

Since it's springtime and everything is blooming, I've been sneezing like crazy today.

And of course I've spent the entire day with my beautiful baby, Miss Flojo!
