parrots are annoying: an outfit post

i feel like such a bad bird mom for saying that, but guys, that girl could win awards for driving me crazy the last few days. from chewing my clothes up (which all parrots do, but usually she stops when i ask her to), to ruining my leather belts, to screaming at me for no reason, to just being a bully, i think she's got parrot pms.

shirt: vintage/thrifted, skirt: express, clogs: torpatoffeln/lotta from stockholm, bag: vintage/thrifted, bracelets: dinosaur toes

there's not much to say about this outfit other than: I'M GETTING DESPERATE! a few weeks a go i told you that a lot of my clothes were too big for me since i've been running and jumping on the trampoline more in the last few months than i usually do, and since this isn't something i plan on changing, that means my clothes have to change. since i have a hard time finding clothes in my size, and the store around here aren't the best for small people, chris was sweet enough to say that he'd take me to north carolina (since we aren't too far north of the border) to get some new and well-fitting clothes! i only have a week left before we go, so until then i'm trying my best to wear things that fit and don't look ridiculous!

i have an addiction to vintage hippie tops, and i was so excited when i found this one because it wasn't 80 sizes to big, and because whoever embroidered it put a bird on it. but, as much as i love my hippie shirts, i can't wear them every day because i feel like i have to be in the right mindset, and that is: peace, love, and getting high. i kid. well, i'm not going to get high, but i feel like when i wear this (or the others) it wouldn't surprise people to see me toting around a bong.

  1. Can I just say that I love this outfit. Those embroidered Mexican dresses are so cute, especially in shirt form. Dougs sister "borrowed" my favorite one....but they
are usually a size 4x or something....
Also, flojo probably just needs a vacation if something.

  2. Love that top! I also love the idea of parrot PMS...

How exciting that you get to invest in some new (smaller) clothes. That trip would probably be a lot more depressing if you had to size up.

  3. Aw, Flojo needs a chill pill, I think while you wear the hippie tops it's her who should be getting high so she can calm down with the parrot PMS. You are adorable in that top, I just love this style & the fact that it has a bird on it is cake. & dude, kudos on the "unfortunate" need of smaller clothes! I hope you have a successful shopping trip. =)

  4. Besides the fact that I love this outfit, I think it's totally lady parrots time of the month, my lady bird Stella is being a biiootch the last few days...she's also molting which isn't helping at all...a head full of pin feathers would probably piss anyone off though! Adorable top btw...and I hear ya, I don't really ever have trouble finding stuff in my size but I am in the midst of loosing a lot of weight and my old clothes are too big but I don't want to buy new stuff until I'm done...it's a good problem to have but still a weird one for me! 11. Bahahaha! Bong toting! The top is rad, I love it lady ;) I cannot imagine being so petite that it is hard to find clothes. I've been this height 5'9, since I was 12 and always wanted to shrink myself down. Although I do love my height now, I could do without the 'man shoulders', broadness which means I have to make do with XL tops even though I don't have the cans to fill out the front. When we were in Thailand I was getting a back massage, the lady said "oooooh such big back shoulders, like man'. I wanted to die.

  12. Love this top, the embroidery is very cute. I have a solution to help keep you from needing to shop more, chocolate cake. If you just get your cake & ice cream on every afternoon I'm sure your clothes will fit again in no time ;)

  14. AH!!! I love this outfit. It's one of my very, very favorites. I think this is my FAVORITE outfit you've ever worn. Ever! I also love hippie shirts. ♥

As for your birdy, dude, Jango is the same way. All the time. And he's a boy. Male PMS? Maybe. He's always on my head, trying to chew my hair or if I have a necklace on... Oh lord. He also has a fascination with both of our desks and will try to play with anything and everything on 'em!

Oh and probably one of the funniest, yet... annoying things he does is when I make a phone call. I don't know if he can hear the sound or if he thinks HE'S on a phone call, but the minute I start dialing he'll screech and keep trying to talk while I'm on the phone! Hah!

We love him so, so much though!
