It's pretty tricky photographing these babies, but since you can't really tell, I used several different types of moss in varying heights and sizes for a little visual interest. I'm still not done as I have a few decorations I want to add, so once I do that I may have more pictures for you!
I was also thinking of doing a giveaway with one of these sometime soon. Is that something you'd be interested in?
Do you like to use natural elements from your yard (or somewhere near you) in your art or projects? How so? If you have pictures, I'd love to see!
those are awesome terrariums. it's always nice to get a pop of green in the house, especially when it's still kind of chilly out. I haven't used many outdoor elements in my crafting, except for this one, but I would love to make a few of these to sit on my mantle.
ReplyDeleteCrissy, I remember those paper flowers! I still haven't made any, but they're on my always growing to do list :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteMy BP and I tried making a few, but totally failed. :( Tips?
Hmmmm, tips... I guess the only thing I'd say is to know your plants. Some absolutely require charcoal and gravel and others only need rich soil. That's about all I can tell you since I'm not an expert!
ReplyDeleteWhat THE?! This is so freaking cool. I don't know if I'd ever be daring enough to do this myself but man, I totally want! So beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteNatural elements are my best friends.
Oh these are gorgeous. I would like to make them but to be perfectly honest i have never seen any moss growing around where i live :-(
ReplyDeleteI have seen these on Etsy, and I absolutly LOVE THEM. I am a huge fan of moss, for some reason it makes me want to go barefoot. I would love for you to do a giveaway.. that would be so neat if i could win!
ReplyDeleteOutdoor elements are the best. espeically if you go out looking for them yourself. I love old pieces of wood and rocks.
these turned out so pretty danielle! love them. way to be productive today lady :).
ReplyDeletethese are so pretty and green! like a little mini spring in a jar. now you just need some mini plastic deer to graze in your moss/grass.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THEM! yes on the giveaway!!! i think they might make a great house warming gift for your neighbor in VA ;) *wink
ReplyDeleteserioiusy though danielle, these are really great! and you should most def. do a giveaway for one of these babies.
I love these... it would be such a lovely giveaway!! XO
ReplyDeleteReally, you just picked moss and put it on dirt? Those are so so cool! I had no idea it was that easy. And where did you get those jars? I really need to do this! Does the moss live long? Tell us more!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes if one of these happened to show up in my mailbox I'd be tickled pink! (instructions on how too would be ok too!)
Those are so pretty! I might have to go get some moss from my parent's woods! Oregon has tons of green! I have lots of fake flowers in my apartment right now and it makes it so cheery, I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody!
ReplyDeleteChristie, the type of moss I used doesn't require gravel or charcoal, just really rich, moist soil. You can also add other plants, but that would require more materials for drainage. They're really easy to make!
i love terrariums. and yes on teh giveaway! haha
