getting to know me

So today I made another rosette headband which I'm happy about, but I didn't get to the sewing I wanted to. I also indulged in a little Awkward Family Photos and People of Wal-Mart. Sometimes I think it might be bad to laugh at people so much, but then I think, "if I dressed or posed like that, I'd laugh at muhself!"

The first two pictures are from AFP, but since it isn't fair to laugh at other people exclusively, the last picture is of my brother and I. Don't judge, I was young, and apparently the knowledge that a camera was there wasn't enough to make me smile or at the very least, close my legs! Whew, that's embarrassing! Now, let's play a little "getting to know me."

1. Why did you start blogging? Because it seemed like everyone who had an etsy shop did it.

2. Who's the one blog friend that you would want to meet most in "real life"? There isn't just one. There are six in particular I'd love to meet, and I'm going to meet one of them in just a few days!

3. Why are you always concerned with losing that "extra 10 pounds" when chances are your husband/boyfriend/friends tell you that you look just fine the way you are? Well, if I lost 10 pounds, I'd be underweight (according to the charts at the Dr.'s office), but I mainly want to burn some fat so I feel a little more confident.

4. What's the one thing you wish guys could understand about you? That a period isn't something to be made fun of. It's serious business, and the fact that I turn into the Incredible Hulk is no laughing matter!

5. Tattoos. How many do you have and how many are visible when you wear your "everyday" clothes? I only have one, and pretty much always visible since it's at my wrist.

6. What was the best year of your life and why? I don't know that I've had a "best year." They all have their ups and downs.

7. Name three things you would do if you were a man for one day. Uh, have sex, have sex with Maggie Gyllenhaal (she's my girl crush) and enjoy someone cooking ME dinner for a change!

8. What's your alcoholic drink of choice that usually raises a few eyebrows? My drink of choice is a blue motorcycle, but I doubt that would raise any eyebrows!

If you'd like to play along, you can link up on Keely's blog.

  1. I love this, and what is a blue motorcycle? I have been bartending for years here in Texas and have never heard of that!

  2. Mmm, it's a good drink! It has tequila, sweet and sour mix, rum, 7-up soda, vodka, gin and Blue Curacao liqueur. A blue hawaiian is good too, and not as strong.

  3. I love the photo of you and your brother. I was the most awkward kid ever... aren't all kids awkward?/! Love this blog of yours, always always! XO

  4. maggie gyllen oh boy! i love her too in a best friend sort of way. she has droopy cheeks like me. ha!
and you should try jeremiah weed vodka.
mix it with water and its so good you cant taste the vodka just tastes like tea!
love that pic of you and your bro hahahaha! thats the best one.
it says "really? do i have to be here!"

  5. Caroline, kids are really awkward, especially when they start getting their permanent teeth and they're all big and crooked!

Mara, I probably sound like a perv, but it's true! That's what I'd do, and since I'd have extra testosterone it would just be normal!

Brandi, I love Maggie, and she was my absolute favorite in Stranger than Fiction. I'll have to try that drink. I've never heard of it, but since I'm from the south, you know I love tea!

  6. I would make that face too if I was on that thing! What IS that? it's scary!

  7. Maddy, it was a chair lift type thing you had to ride up to the top of the mountain where the amusement park was. The mountain was so steep you souldn't drive to the top! I'm not gonna lie, it was a little scary being that high off the ground!

  8. The chair lift looks pretty high up. I remembered once when I was approximately the same age; a family member took a picture of myself and I only realized later on that my zipper was down. Talking about an embarrassing moment.

  9. how fun that you get to meet micaela!

oh...and p.s. the photo of you and your brother is awesome :).

  10. i'm really excited (and a tad nervous but only cos i think you're really pretty and cool and i worry you won't think i am... such girls!) to meet you!!! :) can't wait! i think we'll be fabulous friends!

i laughed at that awesome picture of you and your brother! priceless!!!

i was curious about your drink of choice until i read tequila (we broke up at my college graduation lol long story, but before that i could take plain shots). My drink of choice is a cosmopolitan!

Maggie G- girl crush indeed! 'stranger than fiction' was such a good film! did you see her in "Secretary?" If you were a man for a day you would love it ;) oh to have her body.

  11. Catherine, that's hilarious that your zipper was down! They told us before we went up that there was a camera, and there was even a sign just before we got to the camera, but I guess I just had my head set on looking like a fool!

Lauren, she'll be the first blog friend I get to meet in person, so I'm excited! And that picture of Derek and I is one of my favorites!

Micaela, I'm super nervous, and I'm not cool at all, I can assure you! Oh, Maggie. She's sooooo pretty and I like her style and quirkiness. I did see her in both movies, and I ADORE her character in Stranger Than Fiction!

  12. I LOVE your blog. A lot. Freaking adorable. Also, I would definitely have sex with Maggie Gyllenhal if I was a man for a day too. I adore her in general but especially in Stranger than Fiction

I'd love to hear what you think!
