from film with love

it's been way too long since i've done a 'from film with love post' so i couldn't wait to get back some film pictures from the beach to use for this post!  we took four cameras - two of them film - so we aren't lacking pictures!  my favorite camera, hands-down, is my old (super old) olympus pen-ee half frame camera, so that's always the one i reach for when i go somewhere pretty!

no matter how expensive film processing may be, how difficult it may become to find places that process film, or how obsolete film and film cameras may become, to me, digital will never have the same novelty and surprise that film does!  do you use film cameras?  what kind(s) do you use?  and do you develop the film yourself?

  3. I totally agree with you on film. So much more exciting. I love grabbing our point and shoot hi-matic, it takes such great pictures but we have others that we love too. Tom bought a camera at the thrift store and it had film in it! We just need to develope those, i cant wait! Have you ever done that before? Sometimes, there are some really cool things!

    1. you're right about that. the place i used to go to closed, and the new place i tried got my pictures all messed up, so from now on i guess i'll just have to deal with the delay and send them off to be processed. at least it'll be a little cheaper though, and the company is reputable.

  5. 100% agree with you. I love film, but man is it a pain to get developed. There used to be a shop nearby that did it but now I have to mail my film out to get developed. It blows but its worth it. Now I need a scanner so I can upload them to my computer.

    1. i'm going to try mailing mine to dwayne's from now on because the place that developed this roll and two others got things all screwed up. it was like they'd never seen film before!

  9. Oooh, these photos are just beautiful! I love that last one of the brick building, the lighting is so special.

I will always have a soft spot for film, I have a Canon rebel film camera, but unfortunately it's just collecting dust right now...I should break it out again!
