shirt: banana republic (thrifted) // necklace: gift from beca // skirt: forever 21 (gift from chris) // shoes: i think i got them at the rugged wearhouse but i'm not sure
the one i'm afraid of
are you prone to ripping, snagging, and generally ruining clothes that you really like? i am. big time. i'm not sure why that is, but it seems like the clothes i don't particularly like are invincible to my unintentional destruction, yet the pretty, lacy, favorite things always get hung or ripped on a ring or bracelet, stained by mustard, eaten by dragons accidentally thrown in the dryer and shrunk beyond recognition, etc. this is one of those skirts i'm almost afraid to wear because i like it so much...

I HATE when my clothes get eaten by dragons! But no, I am prone to strange stains & snags...usually I try to mend them/cover them. That skirt is super adorable though :)
ReplyDeletethanks! yeah, i do a lot of mending, too... when i stop procrastinating!
DeleteI definitely have some items I'm afraid of wearing, and of course when I eventually do I spill salsa on myself. I love this skirt!!
ReplyDeleteHey, check your email by the way ;)
My favourite dress got ripped - I keep meaning to ask my Mum to repair it for me but I know how busy she is but it's in a really awkward place so I can't do it myself.
ReplyDeleteMy little sister is always ruining her clothes! Hole near a button, stain on an elbow, rip in the shoulder! You name it, she has done it to her clothes!
ReplyDeletelove that skirt. i'd be afraid it would get eaten by dragons, too.
ReplyDeleteI am forever destroying my clothes. The more I like them the more likely they are to be attacked by dragons. Fact.
ReplyDeleteI have one bag that snags on delicate sweaters, weird right? Great skirt!

I feel the same way lady. It sucks. I often try to prolong my first time wearing it because of this phobia and i ride a bike everyday which often ruins my clothes. It is a hard life. Hehe

oh gosh, i share your neuroses about ruining clothes. i, far too often, buy clothes and let them sit in my closet, waiting for special occasions. and then i realize they've been dormant for years. uhhh, oops? but i can understand -- that skirt is just lovely. and it's even more precious when it's a gift! you look gorgeous & i love the texture of the skirt with the stripedy top. beautiful girl, beautiful outfit. xo.
ReplyDeleteI am totally prone to damaging my favorite clothing pieces! It's totally a shame to avoid wearing the favorites, though: so I try to resist the urge to leave them on the hanger.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally the same way, even with my daughter's clothes. I save my favorite things of hers for a special occasion and then she ends up only wearing them once or twice before she grows out of them.
ReplyDeleteIt's SO gorgeous! Just no sharp objects around such a cute skirt! ;)
ReplyDeleteDragons are the worst with eating clothes. BAH!
ReplyDeletehaha I loooove this skirt! & the top! I looove stripes. Great outfit!
I'm totally the same way with not wanting to ruin clothes. I boguht this awesome poncho in Nice and I'm sooo scared to ruin it. I think I've worn it once.
yay!! So pretty! And I'm glad you like your birthday necklace! It's from With Care on etsy.. ;) Also, I'm not afraid of ruining any clothes because I ruin all clothes. all of them. its a fact of life...oh well, that skirt is pretty...
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is gorgeous! I know what you mean, though - why do I never spill food on my sweatpants, but always on things like my silk dresses? And that begs the question - why do I keep buying things like silk dresses if I know they're already jinxed?
ReplyDeleteI will rip the SHIT out of your skirt. WHAAAAT
ReplyDeleteI am prone to spilling coffee on myself. I have a large pile of dry-cleaning to prove it! I love that skirt, the pattern and colours are so perfect for spring!!
ReplyDeleteTears and snags! My husband is learning to sew and he wants to fix such things - but I'm a little afraid he's going to make them worse.
ReplyDeleteThat skirt looks beautiful but fragile... wear it out with purpose!
