beauty like this is almost haunting...
i saw this a few days ago and immediately knew i had to share it. i know you may not be as obsessed with ballet as i am, but this is beautiful nonetheless! the videography, the dancing, the outfits (ChloƩ), janie's long beautiful hair, the music, it kind of gives me chills. you may or may not know this already, but one of my biggest, and longest running dreams, is to dance professionally. ballet has always mesmerized me, and my love for the art hasn't faltered since i was 5. i have regretfully come to terms with the fact that the new york city ballet has no use for a 29-year-old amateur, so i'll just settle for dancing with my ballet videos in my den, and of course watching pure art and magic like this...

that's really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe cinematography is breathtaking.
oh, and I am pretty certain that ny ballet has room for you.
ReplyDeleteI've had the SAME dream, but I too have also given up on it because I don't think they could handle a 25 year old who may have the heart of a professional ballerina, but two left feet in reality. The video was beautiful! I had only seen the photographs of this (which are STUNNING by the way), so thanks for sharing the video!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing! That was absolutely beautiful! I love anything that has to do with music and the performing arts.
ReplyDeleteso gorgeous! I've always been fascinated by ballet too... except I couldn't even hold my arm in the air correctly. Ha. SO clumsy over here... My mother on the other hand was very into ballet until she broke both her knees at age 20. Bummerrr.
ReplyDeleteYour comment on my new dress was so funny just now! I'm almost positive you might be the reason for that trade in fact, thanks to the etsy activity feed and all - I hope I didn't snatch it out from under you! It's really lovely. Eek!
Wow.
ReplyDeleteThat was stunning, and the way it was filmed was really good too.
I've secretly always wanted to be a dancer but I feel I'll never have the time or the flexibility to do that in life. That's okay.
ballet is RIDICULOUS! i can't imagine having a body that can move like that. so so incredibly beautiful.
ReplyDeletelady danielle, you would make a beautiful ballerina. at nine, nineteen or twenty nine. <3 <3
ReplyDeleteand that video was just beautiful.

Amazing! It just really got my blood going (in a good way). So gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to be a dancer but I'm more of a rockette girl, myself. Too bad 5'3" isn't their ideal height.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful video. I would love to do that. Too bad I'm not so dainty and fluid. *sigh* But a girl can dream, right?

Grace
INSANELY good. mouth open awe.
ReplyDeletei have absolutely zero grace, but watching this video just totally reignited my childhood ballet dreams. what little girl didn't want to be ballerina at some point? but...since i lack talent completely....i'd just settle for the pretty outfits :).
ReplyDeletelove you lady!
xo!!
